Trek Kilimanjaro takes you up Africa's highest peak by the Marangu Route, the mountain's most established and best-supported path, from the rainforest above Moshi to the crater rim at 5,895m.

Across seven days on the mountain you pass through five climate zones: rainforest, heather and moorland, alpine desert and the arctic summit. It feels like travelling through several countries on a single route.

The Marangu Route is the only route on Kilimanjaro with hut accommodation, so you sleep in mountain huts rather than tents. The itinerary includes two full acclimatisation days, at Horombo and at Kibo, to give your body time to adjust before the summit. Days are long and steady on well-trodden trails, with big views of Kibo and Mawenzi and a night-time climb to watch the sunrise from Gilman's Point.

A team of mountain guides, cooks and porters looks after you throughout. Hut life brings a shared dining hall each evening, and those who reach the summit collect an official certificate at Marangu Gate.
