2017 has been a fantastic year for Women V Cancer. With over 3000 women taking part in three challenges across the globe, we have raised more than £1.5 million for the three invaluable Women V Cancer charities; Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, Breast Cancer Care and Ovarian Cancer Action.
Here, the team at Ovarian Cancer Action expresses just how much all our Women V Cancer heroes have helped the charity strive towards putting an end to the devastating disease.
Here's the transcript for all you keen readers:
Season's Greetings from Ovarian Cancer Action
It has been another incredible year for Women V Cancer and we wanted to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you from everyone here at Ovarian Cancer Action. This year, you rode through the night, cycled across the UK and biked through Brazil. Thank you.
It was also a personal privilege of mine to be able to cycle alongside so many of you in Brazil. Thank you so much: all your inspirational stories got me up those hills!
Your fundraising has meant that Ovarian Cancer Action can continue funding scientific research, raising awareness of the disease and the symptoms and campaigning for better treatment for women.
Sadly, in the UK, a woman dies of ovarian cancer every two hours and we think this is unacceptable - but thanks to you, we’re doing something about it.
So thank you to all of you, who braved the British weather and the Brazilian heat, the hours of training, the bum chafing, the sore legs and for doing it all with a smile on your face!
Thank you, merry Christmas!
let's keep it up!
Since the launch of Women V Cancer in 2010, our women-only challenges have raised £12 million for the three women's cancer charities - and the momentum just keeps going. We have plenty more charity challenges for you to take part in next year, with more coming for 2019! Book your place on your next adventure and continue to help this fantastic cause - either through a Women V Cancer bespoke challenge or through any of our open challenges, which allow you to support a charity of your choice.Find your next Women V Cancer challenge!
