Trek Mount Toubkal

Trek Mount Toubkal

Summary

Begin your adventure in the vibrant city of Marrakech before heading into the High Atlas Mountains. The trek starts from the mountain village of Imlil, ascending through the dramatic Azzaden Valley and over high mountain passes. Experience nights under canvas at remote mountain camps, including the Neltner base camp at 3,207m.

The challenging route covers approximately 26-27 kilometres over three days of trekking, with significant elevation gains totaling over 3,600m of ascent. The highlight is the pre-dawn summit attempt of Mount Toubkal, rewarding successful climbers with panoramic views across the Atlas Mountains and, on clear days, the Sahara Desert.

This carefully crafted itinerary combines physical challenge with cultural experiences, from meeting traditional Berber communities to celebrating in a historic Marrakech palace. The trek requires good fitness levels and some mountain walking experience, with proper acclimatisation built into the route.

In remote locations, mules will be used to carry equipment and luggage. We take the care and treatment of animals seriously. They are only used where it is impossible to use motor vehicles, and all suppliers that work with animals are chosen if they can demonstrate a suitable animal care policy.
