Transaid cycle kenya

Summary
Unleash your inner lion and cycle from Nyeri to Lake Victoria on our once-in-a-lifetime charity challenge for Transaid. Kicking off at the edge of Aberdare National Park, we’ll cycle 474km through the lush and mountainous countryside of Kenya. We’ll get a feel for the local culture as we cycle past countless farms and plantations, growing everything from tea to sugarcane and stay in some small settlements far off the tourist trail.
That’s not to mention the wildlife! Look out for giraffes, zebras, buffalos, and many more animals, as we ride across a game conservation and acres of bushland. All the while, we’ll lose our breath on undulating terrain that tests us to the extreme. Our long, winding climbs will reward us with expansive panoramas across the Rift Valley and a sense of achievement unlike anything you have felt before.
Our extraordinary challenge ends in Nairobi, the perfect place to celebrate our achievement for Transaid. You’ll have the chance to take part in an optional game drive and to visit a local elephant orphanage, as you revel in your success.
Temperatures can be hot but we will endure very dry weather. The roads are in fairly good condition with tarmac almost throughout. The hills are a challenge though with climbs on every cycling day. The second day of cycling has a gradual climb over 25 km, finishing with a steep climb. Throughout the week we will cycle over 450 km with the longest day being around 100 km.
