The Carpathian Mountain Trek

From:£1,650+ Registration Fee

Summary

This September, join a remarkable challenge through Romania’s Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains—raising funds for The Urology Foundation while experiencing one of Europe’s most striking and untouched landscapes.

Each day brings a new perspective: from royal mountain palaces to glacier-sculpted ridges, village life, and high-altitude trails. You’ll summit Omu Peak at 2,505m, visit the legendary Bran Castle, and explore quiet forest paths, wildflower meadows, and timeless alpine communities. With expert local guides, all accommodation and support included, this is an unforgettable way to walk with purpose.

You have two financing options for your TUF trekking challenge. Choose 'Self-funding' and pay your registration fee of £299 when booking, then pay for your own challenge costs of £1,650 by 14 weeks before departure. If self-funding, we ask that you also raise £1,000 or more for the Urology Foundation.

Alternatively, you could choose 'Minimum sponsorship' and pledge to raise at least £2,500 in sponsorship, and in return, they will pay for your challenge costs. All you will need to pay is your registration fee of £299 when booking.

If you have any questions about the challenge, or if you need help booking, our friendly challenge experts are only a phone call away on 01590 646410 between 9:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday, or you can email bookings@dream-challenges.com.

This trek is not designed for Olympic athletes – it is designed for people looking for an amazing goal to train and get fit for. A number of the people who will take part in this challenge will have a low level of fitness level when they sign up.

This challenge is the perfect motivation to get fit, improve your own mental and physical health and make a difference for the charity that means the most to you.

We strongly recommend you train for the trek as we’ll face long days on our feet, encounter some steep climbs and tackle a lot of uneven terrains, and the fitter you are, the more you’ll enjoy it.

You can start training straight away with our trekking training plan available at https://www.dream-challenges.com/preparation . This builds up gradually over time, so you’ll be ready and raring to go by the time we depart for Romania.

Please invest in a pair of quality hiking boots with ankle support to wear during your training and on your trek in Romania, as these are essential for walking on uneven terrain. We also recommend incorporating hills in your training treks.
