Why Natalie Hadley is walking the night

14 July 2018 will see well over a thousand super inspiring men and women walking either a half or a full marathon around central London at night to raise critical funds and awareness of charities Breast Cancer Care and Prostate Cancer UK. Walking a marathon through London at night is no small feat, but the challenge is well worth it to support such an invaluable cause. Here’s a message from Natalie Hadley, one of our amazing Walk the Night heroes explains why she’s taking on this epic night marathon.

“I'd like to say what a fantastic challenge this will be for everyone.

I'm walking with my sister, Sharon Elliott, it's in memory of my sister in law, Ruth Hadley. She lost her battle to an aggressive form of breast cancer last July, so this will be a very emotional walk, as it will be a few days before the anniversary of her death.

She dedicated her life to Angola in Africa as a missionary for the past thirty-three years, helping thousands of people and building schools and teaching children. She was really loved by the Africans; they miss her so much and are totally lost without her.

She was one very amazing lady, who I'm honoured to have known for sixteen years and who I miss so much. I told her before she died, I would do something to raise money.

My other reason for this walk is that our dad is currently going through treatment for prostate cancer and is in radiotherapy sessions at the moment – and it's looking very promising! 😊

Thank you, I just wanted to share my story.”
