A statement on coronavirus (COVID-19)
3rd May 2022
The safety and health of our Dream Challenges participants is always our top priority and we are monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation carefully and continuously.
All tour operators and holiday insurance providers take their guidance from Foreign & Commonwealth and Development Office advice.
A message from the MD, Callum O'Driscoll
To all our valued customers
Following the successful vaccination programme in the UK, the government has now replaced their traffic light system with a simpler 'red list' and currently, all countries have been removed from that list except some countries in Africa following the discovery of the Omicron variation. This means that overseas trips are very much back on the cards and we are now entering the biggest reopening of travel since the start of the pandemic!
In 2021, we delivered our first post-pandemic mass participation event, taking our Women V Cancer supporters from London to Brighton and we also made a spectacular Dream Challenge come true for an awesome group of trekkers in Spain, completing our 5-day pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago.
In terms of the possibility of operating challenges in early 2022, we will, of course, be guided by this new system, along with any applicable restrictions in the destination country.
The rapid progress in vaccinations is giving many of us the confidence to travel as soon as possible and, if you choose a Dream Challenge, you’ll have the extra confidence of knowing that our industry-leading COVID action plan will stay in place as long as they are needed. Rest assured that if a Covid-19 test is still a requirement in order to return to the UK, we will arrange this for you on your challenge.
There is still a chance we may have to cancel your challenge as a result of (1) subsequent changes to the UK Government advice or local restrictions in the destination, (2) our suppliers not being in a position to put our COVID action plan in place, or (3) voluntary transfers resulting in unviable participant numbers on the challenge. We anticipate an extensive programme of challenges from the beginning of 2022. If your challenge is cancelled for one of these three reasons, we are committed to providing the most convenient alternative arrangements, matching prices where possible.
I look forward to seeing you on a challenge again very soon!
Callum

Top tips on planning your travels during the pandemic
COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our ability to travel and it is understandable if you don't feel comfortable travelling right now. Dream Challenges is delighted to have been able to trek the West Highland Way safely with a group of adventurers in October 2021 and we are all set to cycle and trek further afield by the end of the year. That said, we understand many of our challengers are hesitant to roam far from home this year and are instead planning to join us on one - or several - of our amazing challenges in 2022!
If you are still feeling unsure about travelling, LoveHolidays' top tips for hesitant travellers might help to assure you. You can check them out here and see their advice for personal hygiene here.
Remember, we are planning all our Dream Challenges with our industry-leading 14-step initiative to keep you safe and minimise the risk of COVID-19 and we are always just an email away if you have any questions.
