The Snowdonia Superstars Challenge 2022

Three challenges. One day.

Explore Snowdonia by foot, bike and boat on our stunning, one-day Superstars Challenge!

Solo adventurers and teams alike will unite at Llyn Gwynant to cycle approx. 20 miles through the rolling countryside while the world is still waking up.

Then, the task is on to summit Snowdon. You’ll feel the burn as you climb the Llanberis Path and reach the peak for breath-taking panoramas across the countryside.

Standing at 3,560ft above sea level, your view will expand across miles of patchwork fields, rugged hills and sparkling lakes, with a glimpse of Ireland across the sea on a clear day. It’s no wonder Snowdonia is famed to be one of the finest parts of the UK.

With two tasks behind you, you head back down the mountain to swap your boots for boats and kayak approx. 1.5km across Llyn Gwynant. There’s no need for kayaking experience or equipment, as we provide everything you need, including experienced guides, ready to help you out at the drop of a paddle.

Surrounded by enthralling mountain scenery, you’ll see Snowdon’s reflection as you launch into the lake and navigate around our buoy-marked course to the finish line. We’ll meet you at the bank with your well-deserved medal, ready for a stunning sunset celebration.

What is the Superstars Series?

The Dream Challenges Superstars Series is a collection of awesome, multi-activity challenges in bucket-list UK destinations. With three in 2022 and two more to follow in 2023, participants can take on one challenge or complete all five to conquer the series.

At the end of each Superstars Challenge, you’ll be rewarded with a bespoke medal and if you manage to conquer all five challenges, these medals will form a star!

Your itinerary

Day 1
Llyn Gwynant – Challenge Briefing

We meet on the night before our challenge commences at a campsite by Llyn Gwynant, tucked in the heart of Snowdonia. You have all day to make your own way to the campsite, where registration opens from 5pm. We’ll have tents already set up, but please bring your own sleeping bag. We’ll send all participants the full details of the campsite and how to get there as the event draws closer.

Our Dream Team will welcome you upon your arrival and you have a chance to get settled and meet your fellow participants. At 7pm, our awesome Challenge Leader will explain the challenge in full and answer any questions you might have. Following our briefing, we tuck into our Welcome Dinner at the campsite and rest up for the big day tomorrow.

Day 2
Challenge Day

Waking up to breakfast at our campsite, you mount your bikes at around 7am for the first epic stretch. You’ll cycle approx. 20 miles/32.2km through rolling countryside, the rural roads still quiet as Wales starts to wake up. Our clearly sign-posted route takes you alongside Llyn Gwynant, before undulating through spectacular mountain scenery to the Llanberis Path at the foot of Snowdon.

Here, you'll see our Dream Team waiting with your trekking gear, ready for you to don and take on Snowdon, the tallest mountain in England and Wales! Your bikes and cycling gear will be transported to the finish line at Llyn Gwynant during your climb.

Following the fairly steep Llanberis Path to the summit, your views will grow more beautiful with every step, with the best panorama waiting for you at the top. Miles of patchwork fields, rugged hills, sparkling lakes, small islands and a glimpse of Ireland across the sea on a clear day, you won’t want to leave! But your last task awaits, so it’s back down the mountain you go on the Ranger Path all the way to Llyn Gwynant.

You'll see more of our Dream Team waiting at the banks of the handsome Llyn Gwynant. No kayaking equipment or experience is necessary. We’ll kit you up with a kayak, paddle and buoyancy aid and give you some quick training before you launch into the lake.

Now, it’s a 1.5km paddle across the lake to the finish line. Our experienced and first-aid trained challenge guides will be there the whole time to support you if needed.

Finally, you pull up at the bank on the other side of Lyn Gwynant, where we present you with your Superstars Challenge medal and a well-deserved glass of prosecco! We head back to the nearby campsite and you can freshen up with a hot shower. Tonight, we celebrate with a delicious dinner and rest another night at the campsite.

Of course, you are also welcome to make your own way home after dinner or to make your own accommodation arrangements, rather than staying another night at the campsite with us. Simply let us know in advance.

Day 3
Llyn Gwynant - Home

Today after breakfast at the campsite, we say our goodbyes and you make your own way home, no doubt buzzing to book your next event in the Dream Challenges Superstars Series.
